A seminar on “Atmanirbhar Bharat through Atmanirbhar Gujarat” was organized on 21st November, 2022 at Paryavaran Mandir, Vastral, Ahmedabad. Shri Jagdishbhai Vishwakarma, Director, Rabatex Group was the Chief Guest for the seminar. GCCI Office Bearers, Past Presidents and members as well as industry representatives from Naroda, Vatva, Narol, Odhav, Kathawada and Muskati Cloth Market remained present in the Seminar and discussed the steps which should be taken to make Gujarat's industries “Atmanirbhar” or self-reliant.

The guests and members present were welcomed by Mr. Ajaybhai Patel, Senior Vice President of GCCI. In his address, he said that Gujarat has become a major contributing State towards industrial and economic growth of the nation and therefore Gujarat's industries need to gear up to materialize the dream of a self-reliant India. He further suggested all the industrialists should make efforts to ensure maximum voting on the day of the Vidhansabha elections in Gujarat.

GCCI President Shri Pathikbhai Patwari in his address, highlighted the importance of Gujarat in India's development journey. Shri Patwari spoke about the emerging opportunities for industries in Gujarat. In addition, he also remarked about the need for ensuring maximum voting to ensure Gujarat's growth and development.

Shri Jagdishbhai Vishwakarma in his address, appealed to the industries to make efforts to generate awareness amongst the employees and workers for ensuring 100% voting in the upcoming Vidhansabha elections.

Shri Shaileshbhai Patwari, Chairman of Naroda Enviro Projects Ltd. and Past President of GCCI, spoke about the current state of industries in Gujarat and the difficulties faced in further accelerating their growth.

A pledge was taken by the representatives of the associations and industries present in the seminar that they will make utmost efforts to generate awareness and insist for 100% voting by themselves and their employees and workers on the election day. It was further decided that every GIDC association member would give sufficient time to their workers on the polling day and encourage their employees to vote and this message would be communicated through various newspapers and other media.

GCCI has also entered into an MoU with the Chief Electoral Officer, Gujarat as a part of which in the first phase the AVSAR (All Voters Spirited, Aware and Responsible) program for encouraging voter registration was organized by GCCI in association with the office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Gujarat. In the second phase, GCCI's Business Women Committee and Youth Wing organized programs in several universities and colleges to create awareness about voting, in which officers from the office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Gujarat were also present.

GCCI further appealed to industry and trade to allow leave of 3-4 hours to employees and workers to vote on polling day, or if possible to give paid leave on that day. GCCI has also given leave to its employees from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM to cast their votes on the polling day.
