  • Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & industry organized interactive session on ‘The Role of Chambers in Creating New India’ on October 31, 2018 at 4.00 PM at GCCI.
  • Dr Jaimin Vasa, President, Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industry while welcoming Mr. Rashesh Shah, President of FICCI stated that he is one of the finest leaders we have, to give voice to India’s Trade & Industry.
  • On the occasion, GCCI President Dr. Jaimin Vasa recalled and emphasized collective role that GCCI and FICCI have been playing over the years to promote the cause of trade & industry in Gujarat & India. He proposed to organize many more activities with FICCI in the coming months.
  • Mr. Rajiv Vastupal, CMD, Rajiv Group & Chairman, FICCI Gujarat State Council mentioned about many collaborative activities of FICCI & GCCI over the years and also many doyens of Gujarat’s business & industry having led FICCI during past years.
  • Mr. Rashesh Shah, President, FICCI while addressing the session on ‘’ The Role of Chambers in Creating New India’’ said that India is changing rapidly and the role of chambers is also changing from just being an advocacy group for the industry. We also have to now translate the needs of the Government, the needs of the country, to the industry. He also mentioned that India is at a fascinating stage of economic growth and it needs lot of investments to create jobs and boost growth and for that we need to channelize savings.
  • Mr. Shah added, this also requires promoting entrepreneurship and diversity in the boardrooms and FICCI is running various programmes to ensure more and more women join boards of different companies. He said that FICCI is promoting MSMEs and Startups in a big way and City and Regional industry chambers and platforms like GCCI have a critical role in taking this to much higher levels.
