Interactive Meeting with  Mr.Raj Modi, Hon’ble Deputy Minister of Industry and Commerce, Republic of Zimbabwe, on 06th January,2020 at GCCI

• Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industry organized an Interactive Meeting with Mr.Raj Modi, Hon’ble Deputy Minister of Industry and Commerce, Republic of Zimbabwe on 06th January,2020 at GCCI .

• On behalf of GCCI, Shri Natubhai Patel, Sr.Vice President,Shri Bhargav Thakkar, Vice President, Shri Dilip Padhya, Hon.Secretary (Regional), Shri Sunit Hapani, Co Chairman, Foreign Trade Committee  along with members of Foreign Trade Committee and other invitees were present.

• Shri Naubhai Patel, Sr.Vice President, GCCI  welcomed the delegation and shared his memories during his visit to Harare capital of Zimbabwe. He mentioned to arrange meeting with solar entrepreneurs of Gujarat as there are huge opportunities available for Renewable energy in Zimbabwe.  

• Mr. Raj Modi, Deputy Minister of Industry and Commerce, Republic of Zimbabwe mentioned that Textiles, Pharmaceuticals, Minerals, Agriculture are major sectors to strengthen trade relations between two countries. Mr. Modi emphasized that Zimbabwe is politically safe and stable. People are humble and well educated in the country and comfortable with english.

• He informed about SEZ and about various incentive benefits available depends on investment. He also informed B2G support of 99 years lease and that there is no impact duty on solar energy mfg. equipment. He further said that investments can be made with income tax free regime. Employment is quite friendly and affordable in Zimbabwe
