Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized an Industry Academia Connect on 30th April, 2022.

This Industry Academia Connect witnessed the presence of Prof. (Dr.) Himanshu Pandya, Vice Chancellor, Gujarat University along with heads from leading universities & educational institutes i..e. Gujarat Vidhyapith ,Nirma, NID, NIFT,DAIICT, Dharmsinh Desai, Gujarat Technological University etc. and representatives from various industry sectors such as  Chemical, IT, Engineering etc.

In his welcome address, Shri Hemantbhai Shah welcomed the dignitaries and participants and give an introduction the activities of GCCI. He also assured to support academic institutes whenever they need support from industry.

Dr.M.P.Chandran, Chairman ,Education Task Force stated that this program has been organized as a “Brainstorming session” to come up with ideas that can be converted into actionable plans in the form of a White Paper. The said White Paper may help all the stakeholders in general and Academia-Industry and policymakers in particular to bridge the gap between academic-outputs and industry-aspirations, particularly in the context of students' employability/ entrepreneurial skills.

Chief Guest Shri S.J.Haider, IAS, Principal Secretary, Higher Education Department, applauded the initiative of GCCI to arrange suchan initative for  industry academia connect. He highlighted in his address about the National Education Policy, Student Startup Innovation Policy, Panchamrita scheme. He also asked participants to give their inputs to prepare a State recommendation on how to reach USD 5 trillion economy and a global economic powerhouse by 2024-25.
