Interaction of Exporters with Hon’ble Prime Minister through Video Conference

Today on 6th August, 2021 Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi virtually addressed and interacted with the exporters for the roadmap to achieve USD 400 Bn merchandise export in 2021-22. Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry was one of the centres where the exporters gathered from various Industry sectors to interact with Honourable Prime Minister.

August presence of Additional Chief Secretary, Industry and Mines Dept., Dr. Rajiv Kumar Gupta, IAS, Industries Commissioner, Dr. Rahul Gupta, IAS, Managing Director, Ms. Nilam Rani, IFS and Office Bearers of GCCI including President Shri Natubhai Patel encouraged more than 100 Exporter members who attended the Live Interaction.

From Export Promotion Councils, Special Economic Zones, Directorate General Foreign Trade, Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry and other chambers from across the country participated in this live interaction. 

Hon’ble Minister for External Affairs Dr. S. Jaishankar Ji, Hon’ble Minister of Commerce and Industries, Shri Piyush Goyal Ji, High Commissioner of countries such as Bangladesh, Brazil, Beijing, China, European Union, Singapore, South Africa, United Kingdom and United States of America joined and shared their valuable suggestions to develop and grow the export opportunities in their respective countries.

Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi during his keynote address emphasized that India has entered into 75th Year of Independence, now it is correct time to prepare a roadmap for future growth as new opportunities are being created across the world. Earlier we had a large share in Global Economy and again we should focus on global trade and try to bring that glory back.

Hon’ble Prime Minister assured that Atmanirbhar Bharat, Skill India, Make-in-India and many relaxations which have been given to facilitate exports and encourage MSMEs such as PLI scheme etc. will be very helpful to increase our global share. Further Honourable Prime Minister cited an example of mobile phones and mentioned that 7 years ago mobile phones worth 0.3 billion $ were exported and now it has increased to 3 billion $, which is exemplary. He mentioned that Government is trying to minimize the impact due to COVID pandemic. The Country is witnessing positive signs of recovery and therefore, it is a good time to decide exports targets and achieve them. Prime Minister Shri Modi highlighted that chambers of commerce should act as bridge ad Ministry of Commerce and Industry should formalize a system where chambers can connect to Ministry every month and groups of diaspora should be made which can organise virtual summits
