COVID IN KIDS

The Webinar was organized by GCCI Youth Wing Committee & Women Empowerment Wing of Karnavati Club. The same was joined by Paediatrician Dr. Ankit Mehta (D.M Paediatric Care, Zydus Hospitals) & Dr. Harsh Modh,(MD Paediatric, Assistant Professor GCS Medical College Hospital) as esteemed speakers. The event was moderated by Dr. Prachi Desai & Dr. Rydhem Patel.  Speakers informed that, it is necessary to keep Kids mentally stable in this time of Corona. For this, parents need to spend as much possible time with their children. Immunity is not getting from Vitamins only, physical workout is also necessary for the same. If the child have sniffing nose and moderate fever, immediately contact Paediatrician and if necessary also go for RT-PCR test.

Immunity is low in the children having age less than 1 year. Immunity is made after the age of 5 years. In this circumstances, it is essential to give fresh hot food instead of tiffin food to the children. Safety is equally necessary with Immunity. Hence please avoid to take children in public parks. Wearing mask is compulsory. If any symptom is found, don’t panic and immediately contact your doctor. Positive mother can also give Breast-feeding to the newborn baby and to children upto age of 2 years. – Dr. Ankit Mehta

Testing is currently in progress of Vaccines including Pfizer in children. In which, vaccine can be given to the children of age 6 months to 18 years after clinical approval. Remdesivir injection is not necessary for children. In place of it, Symptomatic and Supportive treatment can be given. On one way where schools are closed, parents have to play roll of teachers for their child. Bio-Bubble Groups could be developed by Societies & Apartments, so that children and parents could give time to each other. – Dr. Harsh Modh
