GCCI Delegations

Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry has successfully sponsored various delegations to countries abroad, which have proved purposive and fruitful. Thus, the Chamber has been actively promoting the objective of furthering global business relations of India.

In recent years, the Chamber has sent many delegations, of which the important ones include:

A delegation lead by H.E Ambassador MS GRACE AKELLO had an excellent interactive meeting with GCCI today and discussed how the trade and investment can enhance for the mutual benefit. President Shri Natubhai mentioned the historical ties between the two countries from centuries back. The mutual trust between people of both the countries will help to boost our relationship. He assured the delegation that GCCI will help the business community of Uganda to find the right partner for business. 

Sr. VP Shri Hemant bhai explained the functions of GCCI which helps not only the trade and Industry but society at large. 

Shri R. D. Barhat GM DIC introduced the delegates and shared the Industrial growth of the state.

H.E. Ambassador MS. GRACE AKELLO said that they are looking forward for collaboration with State of Gujarat for economical development of Uganda and welfare of Gujarat. She also recalled the historical relationship which is more than 200 years old and The Railways in Uganda was started with the help from India. Further it has got a solid boost with the visit of HONORABLE PM Shri Narendra Modi’s visit 2 years back. She highlighted few of the Industries like Commercial Agriculture, Hospitality and service, IT, SOLAR energy, mineral etc. where we both can cooperate with each other.  MSME model is what they wish to borrow as it has been great success in Gujarat and India. Investment in Industry in Uganda will open the market for entire East Africa and Europe & US as well as they have a good relationship with those countries. 

Chairman of various committees/task force explained the role and functions of their committees and were impressed with the scope offered by Uganda.

A 19 member Business Delegation of Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry under the leadership of GCCI MSME Committee Chairman Shri Jaimin Vasa visited Saxony-Anhalt, Germany from 14th April to 21st April 2013 to explore possibilities of bi-lateral economic co-operation between Gujarat/India on one hand and Saxony-Anhalt/Germany on the other. The delegation consisted of businessmen/industrialists representing sectors such as Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals, Automobiles and Engineering as well as Information Technology. The delegation received a very warm reception by the state authorities of Saxony-Anhalt. Dr. Tamara Zieschang, State Secretary for the Ministry of Science and Economic Affairs of Saxony-Anhalt welcomed the delegation on the first day and discussed about the possible areas of collaboration between Germany and India. During their visit, the Delegation held meetings with the Magdeburg Chamber of Commerce, as well as with IMG-Investment and Marketing Corporation of Saxony-Anhalt, which is a wholly-owned government department of the state. The delegation members also had a meeting with the Mayor of Halberstadt City, who gave a presentation about the city’s business opportunities and benefits of investing in the city. The Delegation visited the Mahreg Automotive cluster, which is a leading automobile park of the region. The delegation also visited the leading Chemical parks at Bitterfeld-Wolfen and Leuna. They also visited some companies in these clusters and held B2B meetings for discussion on business promotion and technology transfer etc. The Delegation also visited two leading universities of Saxony-Anhalt during their trip, and studied their R&D processes in detail. In addition to the above, the Delegation visited the waste water treatment facility of the state, which is renowned across the globe for its highly advanced technology. The Delegation of GCCI received encouraging response from IMG and other state authorities of Saxony-Anhalt, Germany and proved to be immensely useful for the participants.
