Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industry, in association with Indian Drug Manufacturers’ Association organized a Budget for New India today on March 3, 2018 with Hon’ble Union Minister Shri Mansukh Mandaviya, Minister of State, Road Transport, Highways, Shipping, Chemicals & Fertilizers, Government of India, and Dr. Kirit Solanki, Member of Parliament of India representing Ahmedabad.
In his welcome Speech, Shri Shailesh Patwari, President of GCCI, admired Prime Minister’s Vision of New India and excellent leadership he and his team of ministers have been providing towards this vision and mission. He further added that the growth of our GDP from 6.5% to 7.2% is very positive sign that we have strong fundamentals in right place to build the future of India.
In his address to the industry, Hon’ble Minister said that Budget is a roadmap explaining in which direction the government is working. From earlier 489 unimplemented projects, Govt. has taken up 355 projects for implementation and 270 are completed. There are 1.87 crore people are without houses and the govt. has planned and every year 51 lakhs houses are planned for building by which within next 5 to 6 years, most of the families will be having their own residences. Pharma industry growth currently of 15% will be doubled soon. GST will automate the whole tax system. New generation is expecting transparency in business. The patent will be registered within a year this process was taking 3 years of time which made the patent registration useless. He also told that Banks’ NPA burden will not be shifted on to MSMEs. He shared his views that as Chanakya rightly said that a state can be prosperous only if its trade and industry is given support. Therefore, they should be incentivized for betterment and growth of wealth creation. The current budget of 21 lakh crore should reach to 40 lakhs crore within 5 to 6 years. He also highlighted the importance of minimum infrastructure requirement of country.
Dr. Kiritbhai Solanki, Member of Parliament, GOI, representing Ahmedabad constituency, that the budget is agriculture oriented. They also resolved the queries of audience.
Dr. Viranchi Shah, Chairman of IDMA, in his vote of thanks explained in summarized manner that the key takeaways of Govt. is focusing on economy towards growth and better opportunities for all.
Other suggestions or inputs were also invited by the Minister.
