Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industry organized an awareness seminar on ““Artificial Intelligence, The Future and The Law " supported by GESIA & Innovation Incubation center of PDPU on
21st September, 2019 at GCCI.
In his opening remarks, Shri Durgesh Buch, President, GCCI highlighted the importance of Artificial Intelligence in current life & it is important for all of us to learn from how we all can benefit through the future of Artificial Intelligence, how we can pro-actively respond to the challenges and what kind of laws must be framed. Shri Bandish Soparkar , Co Chairman, IPr & Law Committee briefed about the main purpose of seminar and about activities of IPR & Law Committee, GCCI.
The core objective of the seminar was to spread awareness on importance of Law & Regulation in Artificial Intelligence. AI is going to disrupt the very functioning of more and more industries and services by becoming the most important part of our daily life. Since AI can take decisions automatically without human involvement it may improve efficiency based on data and also involve unknown risks that may create legal implications. Therefore, the use of AI driven products and services may require us to redraw the lines of fundamental moral, ethics, law and regulation issues.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri G.R. Raghavender, Joint Secretary, Department of Justice, Ministry of Law & Justice, Government of India shared the vision of the
government in AI. He explained in details about the impact of AI in major sectors like smart city projects, Health sector, Education, Agriculture, Industry 4.0 etc… on government website also. He mentioned that Artificial Intelligence is gaining more and more importance globally and nationally. He affirmed that the government is very much concern about data privacy, data protection, data saving.
With a view to providing 360° insight about lots of information and insight was shared by various speakers like Mr,Vivek Ogra, Partner, PricewaterhouseCoopers Pvt Ltd , Mr. Maulik Bhanusali, Chairman, GESIA and Mr.Nitin Bawsay,CEO, Vereve Systems, Shaikh Ahmed Zubair, Enterprise Solutions Manager, Softweb Solutions Inc.
During the course of seminar several questions were raised & responded satisfactory.
The Interactive Meeting concluded with a Vote of Thanks by the Shri Unmesh Dixit, Committee member of IPR & Law committee, GCCI.
