Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) recently hosted an interactive meeting with H.E. Dr. Abdul Nasser Jamal Alshaali, Ambassador of the UAE to India on 20th November, 2023.
Shri Sandeep Engineer, Senior Vice President, GCCI in his welcome address highlighted the shared values and interests that form the foundation of a strong partnership. He also expressed that in order to streamline business dealings in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) there should be a single point of contact for all business-related matters, as having a designated contact person in the UAE would consolidate inquiries, negotiations and overall business interactions to ensure a more seamless and focused handling of various aspects of business operations within the country.
H.E. Dr. Abdulnasser Jamal Alshaali, the Ambassador of the UAE to India focused on the historic ties between the two nations, the current economic landscape and the opportunities for further cooperation. Further, he suggested the strategic planning of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the GCCI delegation and the Federation of Chambers of commerce in the Emirates. The MOU would serve as a formal agreement outlining areas of collaboration, mutual support, and partnership initiatives. In response to the request of Shri Sandeep Engineer and other members for a single point of contact, H.E. mentioned that he will ask the Economic Cell to coordinate.
Shri Anil Jain, Chairman of the International Trade Taskforce GCCI proposed to arrange a session on Doing Business with UAE during Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024.
