Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industry organized an awareness seminar on “Global Competitiveness for Exporters “on 23rd December, 2016 at 4.30 PM at GCCI.
In his opening remarks, Shri Bipin Patel, President, GCCI highlighted the opportunities for encourage exports. He mentioned that as per current market scenario due to demonetization SME’s must have to start exports which allow them to diversify their markets so they will not be dependent on any one market for their success. Exports also help to increase sales and revenues and provide exposure to new ways to markets which enhance business opportunities. Dr. Jaimin Vasa, Chairman, Foreign Trade Committee briefed about the main purpose of seminar and about activities of Foreign Trade Committee, GCCI.
The core objective of the seminar was to provide first-hand information on the export opportunities and ways to strengthen and increase exports. Mr.Ketan Patel, Chairman & Managing Director of Troikaa Pharmaceuticals was the Key Note speaker for the event. He explained on the pivotal role of exports and emphasized the importance of innovation activities to become more competitive internationally. The meeting included a panel discussion with Smt. VasanthaSrinivas, Regional Manager, ECGC Ltd, Mr. P.C. Ravindran, Assistant Director General Foreign Trade ,Ahmedabad, Mr. Partap Singh, AGM & Relationship Manager, SBI, Mr. D.H. Amin, General Manager, District Industries Center, Ahmedabad, Mr. S.V. Modi, Renowned Indirect Tax Consultant & Documentation Expert, Mr. Manish Kiri, Director, Kiri Industries and Mr. Dilip Padhya, Director, Amee Castor & Derivatives Ltd as panelists. Major difficulties related export documentation and procedures were discussed very well in the panel discussion
The audience of about 250 people mainly exporters attended the seminar. In the question answer session, all the invitees shared their thoughts with the panelist and got satisfactory replies to their queries.
