Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industry organized a Lecture by Dr. Samiran Chakraborty, MD & Head, Macro Research (South Asia), Standard Chartered Bank on the topic “Indian Economy: Prospects & Challenges” on February 06, 2015 (Friday) at 05:00 PM at GCCI.
In his welcome address, Shri Rohit Patel, Sr. Vice President, GCCI talked about how the economy of India evolved under various Governments since freedom in the year 1947, from the perspective of trade and industry. Shri Mukesh Shah, Chairman, GCCI Finance Banking Committee said that the economy of India has undergone a major paradigm shift since last five years, and mentioned that we have a competitive edge on global scale today.
In his Lecture, Dr. Samiran Chakraborty highlighted the impact of major parameters such as GDP, Inflation, Exchange Rates, Forex Reserves, Current Account Deficit, Oil Prices, Fiscal Issues, etc. on the Indian Economy. He also mentioned that the Indian economy is positively poised to gain from various Government Policies and Reforms, Infrastructure improvement schemes, Foreign Investment, Make In India campaign, measures from RBI, and others.
The Lecture concluded with Vote of Thanks by Shri Vijay N Shah, Hon. Treasurer, GCCI.
