GCCI’s Chemical Committee, Environment Taskforce and MSME Committee, jointly with the Central Ground Water Authority, WCR, Ahmedabad, organized a workshop on 'CGWA Guidelines and BhuNeer App' to promote awareness and better management of groundwater resources. Shri Gaurang Bhagat, Secretary, GCCI, underscored the urgent need for groundwater conservation, emphasizing GCCI’s unwavering commitment to sustainable development. He highlighted the 'BhuNeer Portal' as a transformative tool for efficient groundwater management and called for collective efforts to address the pressing challenges of groundwater preservation. Shri Yogesh Parikh, Chairman, Chemical Committee, GCCI, delivered the theme address, emphasizing the significance of the workshop and the need for active participation in groundwater conservation. Dr. Ratikanta Nayak, Regional Director, CGWB WCR, Ahmedabad, explained the necessity of regulations, the importance of artificial recharge, and groundwater’s role in the water cycle. Shri Thakur Brahmanand Singh, Member Secretary, CGWA, New Delhi, discussed the impact of climate change on rainfall patterns and highlighted the upgraded features of the BhuNeer App over its predecessor, NOCAP. He elaborated on the app's advantages, while Shri Ramesh Jena, Scientist C, CGWB, provided detailed insights into CGWA guidelines. Ms. Iti Gupta, Scientist D, CGWA, demonstrated the app’s features in an interactive session. Shri Ankit Patel, Chairman, Environment Taskforce, GCCI, concluded the workshop with a vote of thanks, appreciating the joint efforts in promoting sustainable groundwater management practices.
