Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) in association with Department of Labour and Employment, Government of Gujarat organized a meeting with Smt. Anju Sharma, IAS, Principal Secretary, Labour and Employment Department, Government of Gujarat for creating awareness amongst the industry about the new Anubandham Portal created by Government of Gujarat as well as discussing about the role of industries in generating employment and bridging the skill gap.
The event started with Welcome Address by GCCI President Shri Natubhai Patel who welcomed this unique initiative by the government and mentioned that the portal will bridge the gap between the employers and job seekers. He remarked that industries normally had to pay 15% cost for getting profiles of candidates from placement agencies but now this portal will help in saving these costs.
Shri Sachin Patel, Hon. Treasurer, GCCI mentioned in his Theme Address that the Labour and Employment Department, Government of Gujarat have taken many initiatives for reforming labour laws in line with the Central Government’s initiatives and the Anubandham Portal is one of them. He mentioned that this portal will prove to be very useful to the industry which face a challenge in getting skilled manpower.
Shri K.V. Bhalodiya, Additional Director, Directorate of Employment and Training shared the major highlights of the Anubandham Portal as well as the Apprentice Training Scheme. He remarked that the portal will act as a bridge between the job seekers and the industry and help in fulfilling their skilled manpower requirement. He further mentioned that the portal will do away with manual return filing and entries and remove the human interface, thereby making the Employment Exchanges digital.
Smt. M.R. Sahni, Deputy Director, Employment and Training shared a detailed presentation on Anubandham Portal while Shri K.B. Patel Assistant Director shared a presentation on the Mukhyamantri Apprentice Scheme.
The participants got a chance to raise their queries during the Query session, which were replied by Smt. Anju Sharma and her team.
Smt. Anju Sharma, Principal Secretary, Labour and Employment Department, in her address mentioned that the portal will act as a live register of Employment Exchanges and the industries will find it easy to search the right manpower through the various category filters inbuilt in the portal. She urged industry to collaborate for Skill Development and suggested that GCCI should set up a Centre of Excellence for Skill Development. She also highlighted the focus given by the government on innovation and soft-skills training.
Shri Pathik Patwari, Hon. Secretary, GCCI while proposing the Vote of Thanks mentioned that local employment plays a key role in the State’s Development. He thanked all the dignitaries and more than 100 participants who attended the event physically and more than 60 participants who joined online for sparing their time.
