A joint initiative of FICCI-Gujarat State council, CII & GCCI in collaboration with Govt of Gujarat and the Indian Navy to create awareness amongst MSME and other stake holders regarding the requirements and opportunities for Indigenization in Indian Navy. Important topics like current status of Indigenization, the current schemes operating by MoD, how MSME Can take advantage of these schemes were discussed.
MS. Varsha Adhikari Co-chairperson Defense task force gave a welcome address and said that today’s talk is just an opening to understand what Indian Navy wants & what Industry can do. She expressed that we are proud of Indian Navy as they forayed in Indigenization over decades ago with design and construction of warships in the country.
Shri Ravin Vyas Chairman FICCI Gujarat state council ‘s aerospace and defense subcommittee gave a theme address. He said that Gujarat has a strength of design& manufacturing to serve Indian Navy. However, Manufacturers of Gujarat needs to know how to go ahead and this seminar will answer these questions.
Shri R.K. Dhir shared his views and stated that Gujarat is a leader in industrial output the state is keen to collaborate with MoD. Today we will have a road map for the same which will be shared by the speakers from Indian Navy.
Rear Admiral C.S BABURAJ emphasized that Indian Navy has a goal of 80% self-reliance and with cooperation of Industry it can be achieved.
Commodore A.P. Golaya shared that how important it is to be innovative and Indian Navy is looking for innovative technological solutions
Commander Deepak Kota gave a detailed presentation of various schemes on Defense procurement manual which included important details like projects reserved for MSME, how the continual hand holding is done etc. He also shared various web resources which can be reoffered. In case required the industry can interact directly on information portal.
