A delegation lead by H.E Ambassador MS GRACE AKELLO had an excellent interactive meeting with GCCI today and discussed how the trade and investment can enhance for the mutual benefit. President Shri Natubhai mentioned the historical ties between the two countries from centuries back. The mutual trust between people of both the countries will help to boost our relationship. He assured the delegation that GCCI will help the business community of Uganda to find the right partner for business. 

Sr. VP Shri Hemant bhai explained the functions of GCCI which helps not only the trade and Industry but society at large. 

Shri R. D. Barhat GM DIC introduced the delegates and shared the Industrial growth of the state.

H.E. Ambassador MS. GRACE AKELLO said that they are looking forward for collaboration with State of Gujarat for economical development of Uganda and welfare of Gujarat. She also recalled the historical relationship which is more than 200 years old and The Railways in Uganda was started with the help from India. Further it has got a solid boost with the visit of HONORABLE PM Shri Narendra Modi’s visit 2 years back. She highlighted few of the Industries like Commercial Agriculture, Hospitality and service, IT, SOLAR energy, mineral etc. where we both can cooperate with each other.  MSME model is what they wish to borrow as it has been great success in Gujarat and India. Investment in Industry in Uganda will open the market for entire East Africa and Europe & US as well as they have a good relationship with those countries. 

Chairman of various committees/task force explained the role and functions of their committees and were impressed with the scope offered by Uganda.
