Food & Dairy Task Force and Hotels & Hospitality Committee of GCCI organized an interactive session with Dr. H.G. Koshia, Commissioner, Food and Drugs Control Authority, Gujarat with an aim to discuss about Food Safety and Standards Act and New amendments.
Shri Hemant Shah, President, GCCI, Shri Hiren Gandhi, Chairman, Food and Dairy Taskforce , Shri Narendrabhai Somani, Chairman, Hotel and Hospitality Committee welcomed Dr.H.G.Koshia and appreciated the support received from FSSAI .
Dr.Koshia gave an informative presentation in which he shared about activities taking place all over Gujarat under the Government initiative of "EAT RIGHT”. He also shared details of testing kits, testing vans , walkathon , food mela etc activities done by the department. He stated that Gujarat ranks first in the country in the Food Safety Index for the year 2020-21 with a score of 72% .
A large audience consisting mainly of Food Business Operators, representatives of Spices, Dairy, Bakery, Hotels & Hospitality industries attended the seminar. In the interactive session, many issues related to food & allied sector were discussed. These included issues related to labeling, adulteration & quality control, value addition in food products, food licenses, exports of food items etc..
The participants were provided booklets related to FSSAI Act.
All the invitees shared their thoughts and got satisfactory replies to their queries. The session was moderated by Shri Mukesh Modi & Shri Baiju Mehta committee members of Food & Dairy Task Force.
The session was concluded with vote of thanks by Smt.Heena Shah,Food & Dairy Task Force Member.
