Corporate Social Responsibility
Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry has always been active and has come forward during times of natural calamities and crisis to help the trade and industry as well as the general public in numerous ways.
The Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India notified in the new Companies Act, 2014 that specified companies will have to utilize at least 2% of their three year annual average net profit towards specified social welfare activities. In wake of these recent developments in CSR, GCCI being the apex body of trade & industry, had set up CSR committee in the year 2013. This committee aims to provide a platform to bring both corporates and NGOs together so that the funds are channelized in "real" and "true" sense of social development.
